One group that has had a difficult on and off again season was the Cochrane Figure Skating Club. COVID restrictions delayed the season and then lockdowns prevented continuation until recently.

Even though the number of participants was down this year, all had the opportunity to hone their skills and enjoy ice time.

Trudy Owens of the club noted “We decided to run the program anyway to promote skating and also to give the children an outlet for their energy. With the lockdowns etc our season was spotty but the children did well with the COVID restrictions and the limited timeframe. We are hoping next year the season will be a full one.”

The club also wanted to thank their program assistants Lexey Royer and Nicole Denault join Club Coach Isabelle Denault.
“The CanSkate program could not run without all of your assistance!

Avery Calaiezzi won CanSkater of the Year. Tyson Lefebvre was the winner of the Most Enthusiastic CanSkater. Anna Levasseur won the accolade as Most Dedicated CanSkater. The Most Improved CanSkater was awarded to Vegas Chapleau.
