Sudbury area records seven new cases of COVID on Sunday

Like Saturday, Public Health Sudbury and Districts reported seven new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday.

However, unlike Saturday, the number of active cases in the Sudbury area rose Sunday – to 80, compared to 77 the day before.

Five of the new cases are in Sudbury, while two were in the District of Sudbury. Public Health Sudbury and Districts’ jurisdiction also takes in Manitoulin Island.

Two of the new cases were the result of close contact with someone with COVID-19, one was related to travel and four are under investigation.

The health unit continues to deal with eight outbreaks, including at the Sudbury Jail and Health Sciences North.
